Kevin Jonas, the eldest member of the teen heartthrobs the Jonas Brothers, has got engaged.

The 21-year-old pop star proposed to 22-year-old former hairdresser Danielle Deleasa.

The pair, who met two years ago in the Bahamas, are yet to set a wedding date.

According to reports, Kevin turned up on Danielle's doorstep in New Jersey and presented her with a ring he had helped to design.

The singer/songwriter had just come from a concert in Vancouver and said it was tough performing all night knowing he was about to ask the biggest question of his life.

His parents Denise and Kevin Sr said their hearts are filled with joy and that it will be a blessing to have Danielle join their family.

And wedlock will mean strict Catholic Kevin can throw off his purity ring - the singing siblings famously have a no sex before marriage policy.
