Pompey biggest dealers on deadline day

Tal Ben-Haim

The Premier League's bottom club Portsmouth have done the most amount of business on transfer deadline day.

The Fratton Park club signed Israeli defender Tal Ben-Haim from Manchester City, French midfielder Hassan Yebda from Benfica and defender Mike Williamson from Watford.

Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar, however, joined former boss Harry Redknapp at Tottenham.

England goalkeeper David James, also linked with a move to Spurs, stayed at Fratton Park.

Elsewhere Bolton Wanderers, who, like Portsmouth have yet to gain a point in the league, signed Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic on a season-long loan from Nantes.

Aston Villa bought Welsh international defender James Collins from West Ham United while another Wales defender, Danny Collins, moved from Sunderland to Stoke City.

Grant Leadbitter and Carlos Edwards also left Sunderland to join Roy Keane at Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Hull City were another busy club, signing Ibrahima Sonko from Stoke and Abdoulaye Meite from West Bromwich Albion.

Apart from those deals already officially confirmed by the Premier League, some others may still be announced later on Tuesday depending on whether late paperwork is authorised by the league and FA.
