Ofcom won't investigate X Factor X Factor are off the hook with Ofcom. The broadcasting watchdog says it will not be investigating the programme.

It comes after around 3000 complaints about the talent show. ITV's message board was flooded with comments from angry fans after John and Edward survived last weekend's sing-off, while Lucie Jones was knocked out.

Many were annoyed that judge Simon Cowell had taken the result to deadlock for a second week in a row. It meant the result was decided using the viewers phone votes.

But Ofcom said they only investigate complaints based on voting irregularities or the treatment of TV contestants, not the outcome of programmes.
