The stars of new Christmas flick Fred Claus have been in London for its European premiere.

Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti and Miranda Richardson were in attendance for the event in Leicester Square, which was turned into a winter wonderland featuring dancing elves, a choir and snow.

Giamatti, who played Santa in the film, joked: "I've lost the ho, ho, ho, but I had it down at that point. I was worried the most about that - doing a convincing ho, ho, ho."

Vaughn plays his bitter older brother who's been forced to live in his brother's shadow.

But the Wedding Crashers star confirmed he's never hated St Nick, saying: "I love Santa Claus."

Fred Claus is released in the UK on November 30.
