Villagers knock Leeds out of FA cup
Leeds United suffered an embarrassing FA Cup exit after losing to village side Histon.
Postman Matthew Langston headed the only goal for the Cambridgeshire part-timers just before half-time at the wet and wild Glassworld Stadium.
The once-mighty Leeds, who won the Cup in 1972 and have claimed three league titles, failed to reply.
The closest the Yorkshire side came was a Lubomir Michalik effort that hit the post in the second half but Histon, who play in the Blue Square premier division, one rung below the professional ranks, held on for a famous victory.
The second-round defeat was another blow for Leeds, who have fallen on hard times since reaching the Champions League semi-finals in 2001.
Since then, they have been relegated twice and are languishing in League One.
Sunday's FA Cup third round draw means Histon will play Championship side Swansea City in January.
The favorites for the competition were kept apart with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all handed comfortable-looking ties at Southend, Plymouth Argyle, Southampton and Preston North End respectively.
Portsmouth will begin their defence at home, where they will host Bristol City.
The draw produced only three all-Premier League clashes, with Tottenham at home to Wigan, Hull hosting Newcastle and struggling Sunderland at home to Bolton.
