He is known for his toned physique in the Bourne movies, but Hollywood actor Matt Damon enjoyed letting himself go for his latest film The Informant.
The 39-year-old put on 30 pounds to play the part of Mark Whitacre and also had to wear a moustache and prosthetic nose.
Director Steven Soderbergh, who attended the movie's UK premiere at the London Film Festival, said:"Matt really enjoyed that transformation."
According to screenwriter Scott Burns, a diet of "beer and burgers" helped him to gain the extra weight.
Scott said: "That's the great thing about food in America. It's really easy to get obese."
Based on a true story, The Informant is adapted from a book of the same name. The dark comedy follows Mark Whitacre, as he secretly works for the FBI to expose the illegal goings on at his company. But blowing the whistle eventually turns the spotlight on him and his own questionable activities.
The Informant is released in the UK on November 20.
