Clint Eastwood still in the game
Legendary film star Clint Eastwood has said he is not ready to give up acting just yet, as his new flick Gran Torino hits the cinemas.
The Academy Award winner, who directs and stars in the film, arrived on the red carpet with his wife Dina for the world premiere held in tinseltown.
Angelina Jolie, who stars in the latest Eastwood directed drama, The Changeling, showed support for the 78-year-old and attended the event held at Warner Bros studios.
Eastwood plays the lead role of Walt Kowalski, who tries to change the ways of his teenager neighbour after noticing he tried to steal his prize winning 1972 Gran Torino car.
The flick is Eastwood's first since Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby and said it was films such as these that keep him working.
"I've kinda been slowly withdrawing from acting. But every time I say I am not going to, somebody gives me a role. That's what happened with Million Dollar Baby, and that was four years ago now," he said.
"When Gran Torino came along, it was a fun and challenging role, and it's an oddball story."
"I've always maintained that you can always learn something. That is the reason that I keep working and have never thought about retiring, is that I can always learn something new in every picture."
