Royal couple visit ancient Turkish city

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are set to visit one of the world's best preserved classical cities as part of their tour of Turkey.

The coastal city Ephesus is home to the second century Library of Celsus and the largest open air stadium in the ancient world.

The royal couple will then travel to the city of Izmir to visit an organic vineyard.

Prince Charles has long been a supporter of organic farming and in 1986 converted the farm on his Highgrove estate to an organic system.

The royal couple are visiting the country at the invitation of its president, Abdullah Gul, who is a trustee of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, which has Charles as its Patron.
