Diddy will be making his next move in the acting world with a role in hit crime drama CSI: Miami.

The hip-hop mogul is set to play a federal prosecutor who bumps heads with Lieutenant Horatio Caine, played by David Caruso.

The CBS network said the two episodes he will appear in will air in the US mid-to late winter.

It is not the first time Diddy has caught the acting bug.

He appeared in the TV adaptation of Broadway play Raisin in the Sun, and starred alongside Halle Berry in Monster's Ball.

In 2001, he played a small role in crime comedy Made, starring Vince Vaughn.
