Fratellis fundraising for Cancer Trust
Profits from a new Fratellis track will go towards the £350,000 needed for a new Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) unit in Glasgow.
The single, Look Out Sunshine, has been released in London ahead of a 14-date tour of the UK.
The band became involved with the charity earlier this year when they played at TCT's Royal Albert Hall gig organised by The Who's Roger Daltrey.
After meeting young patients there and at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children TCT unit, they decided they wanted to do more to help.
"Teenage Cancer Trust do such a great job. We really want to help increase the amount of good work they do by adding further units in Scotland," said lead singer Jon Fratelli.
"We decided to make sure that the next single that we brought out we'd give all the proceeds towards building this new ward.
"I have no idea how much money that will raise, but even if it just raises some awareness of it, that would be good. "
Chief Executive of Teenage Cancer Trust Simon Davies thanked the band for their support.
"It's fantastic news to have such a high profile band such as the Fratellis backing our campaign.
"We'd like to say a huge thank you for all their support and wish them the best of luck with the release of their new track," he said.
