Dead Man's Tamer Hassan eyes comic book role

British Tamer Hassan is out to steal Christian Bale's cape after admitting he would love to play Batman.

After appearances in Layer Cake, The Business and The Calcium Kid, the former boxer has landed his first lead role in Dead Man Running.

He stars alongside 50 Cent and Danny Dyer in the urban crime thriller, which was partially financed by footballers Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole.

Hassan admits he would now like to expand his range by starring in romantic features or even a period drama. But the caped crusader would be his ideal role.

He revealed: "I'd love to play Batman. I've been obsessed with Batman since I was a kid."

His Dead Man co-star Brenda Blethyn thinks he has it in him. She added: "He can go anywhere now after this. He's great, I think he can carry a film."
