England thrash South Africa
England won at a canter in the second one-day international against a poor South Africa side at Trent Bridge.
England needed only 84 to win and strong batting performances from Matt Prior (45) and Ian Bell (28), both not out, sealed an easy ten-wicket victory for England and took them to a 2-0 lead in the NatWest Series.
But it was England's bowlers who put England in charge.
Career-best figures for Stuart Broad helped demolished South Africa for 83 in the day-nighter.
The 22-year-old, who opened the bowling on his home ground, finished with 10-3-23-5 as the South Africans were dismissed in 23 overs.
The all-rounder's figures are the fifth best in England one-day international history, even though they were wrecked by Andre Nel, who launched three boundaries from Broad's final four balls.
However, any further fight from Nel ended with his bid to sky Steve Harmison's opening delivery, which was caught by Luke Wright.
South Africa's only saving grace came when Albie Morkel managed to put his side past its lowest one-day total of 69, scored against Australia in Sydney in 1993, with a hoik through the leg-side for four off Harmison.
But his stand did not last long and he soon provided wicketkeeper Matt Prior with a sixth catch behind the stumps.
And South Africa's second-worst total was confirmed when Andrew Flintoff re-arranged Dale Steyn's stumps.
