BA bans Naomi after baggage row

Supermodel Naomi Campbell will never be able to fly with British Airways again following a spat on a recent flight.

The 37-year-old was removed by police from a Los Angeles-bound plane last Thursday after flying into a rage when she was told one of her bags went missing.

Campbell was then arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and released on bail on Friday pending further inquiries.

Now the airline has made the decision to ban the star from using its fleet for her jet-setting lifestyle despite her spokeswoman calling for the dispute to be "resolved amicably".

Campbell was one of thousands of passengers who faced major disruption at Heathrow's Terminal 5 because of cancellations, delays and lost luggage.

The supermodel's spokeswoman said: "Naomi has been flying with BA for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably."

A BA spokesman said: "We do not comment in detail about matters relating to individual passengers.

"All incidents of abusive or disruptive behaviour towards fellow passengers or staff are taken extremely seriously and will not be tolerated.

"We deal with cases on an individual basis and take appropriate action where necessary."

The incident comes a year after the London-born star was forced to mop floors at New York's Sanitation Department after getting community service for throwing a jewel-encrusted BlackBerry phone at her maid.

In 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty to attacking her personal assistant Georgina Galanis, who told a Canadian court the model hit her with a phone and threatened to throw her out of a moving car in Toronto two years earlier.
