Material Girl's dress up for sale

Items belonging to Madonna, Elvis and the Beatles are up for grabs as online auction site The Fame Bureau holds its latest sale.

Going under the hammer will be a guitar owned by the King during his Army days, the pink satin ball gown worn by everyone's favourite Material Girl in the video of the same name and a drumskin which belonged Ringo Starr.

The Fame Bureau is run by music memorabilia expert Ted Owen and ex-investment banker-turned-pop artist James Wilkinson.

Owen said of the frock, which could go for upwards of £60,000 and was worn in the 1985 video: "The dress is important because it's an iconic video and it's a turning point in Madonna's life."

It is being sold with a white faux-fur stole and a set of pink satin opera gloves.

There are a host of items being sold, including the original lyrics to the Jackson Five's hit ABC and a rare poster advertising the Beatles' first gig at the Cavern in Liverpool after they returned from Hamburg.

There is also a 40-minute film of US rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers from the mid-80s which Owen said shows them "at their most debauched".
