As people prepare for Hallowe'en parties and trick or treating out in the streets, extra police will be out to target anti-social behaviour.
The Home Office is announcing that over 1,000 dedicated youth workers and police officers will be patrolling known hot spots over the weekend to try and clamp down on criminal activity.
Extra officers will be on duty in 69 community areas and directly engaging with young people on the streets in a bid to stop incidents of crime and antisocial behaviour as part of the Youth Crime Action Plan (YCAP).
Alcohol will be confiscated from underage drinkers and will also form an important part of the operation with police officers hoping to seize alcopops and high strength lagers.
Young people at risk of becoming involved in crime are expected to be removed from the streets and taken to a place of safety where parents will be called to collect them under Operation Staysafe.
