New Yorkers celebrate with hot dogs
New Yorkers are celebrating Independence Day with the city's annual hot dog eating competition.
This year's competitors include six-time winner Takeru Kobayashi, also known as the Tsunami, and the defending champion Joey Chesnut.
There are 21 competitors in total ranging from a pizza cook from New York, a fishmonger from Chicago and a mother from Maryland.
The aim of the competition is to eat as many hot dogs as you can in just ten minutes - previously the time-limit was 12 minutes.
Last year Mr Kobayashi said he suffered from toothache and a sore jaw after eating 63 hot dogs and buns.
