Mel C has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child.

The singer revealed the news on her website and said she and her partner Thomas Starr are "very happy".

She's the last Spice Girl to become a mum, joining bandmates Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton in the motherhood club.

The singer said on her website: "As I'm sure you'll understand we needed time to wait for results and tell our families.

"Thank you for all your kindness, good wishes and support (even if it was based on speculation!)."

The singer added that she'll be "taking it easy" but was looking forward to writing for her fifth album.

"I'll need some time off to be a mum but, before you know it, we'll be back," she added.
