Robbery suspect 'ate evidence' A suspected bank robber may have eaten evidence when he gobbled up a piece of paper, US police have said.

Officers said John Ford, 35, of Cleveland, Ohio, walked into a bank in nearby Streetsboro and handed a teller a note demanding money.

Officers arrested Ford and found and said they found a bag of money in his car along with a bank dye pack that had exploded and a pistol.

When investigators asked where the piece of paper was they checked a dashboard camera in a patrol car.

Footage appeared to show Ford leaning over the bonnet of his car and grabbing a piece of paper with his mouth while police were handcuffing him and emptying his pockets.

Ford, who is also a suspect in two more bank robberies in the area, is being held in Portage County Jail.
