Banksy takes over Bristol museum
World-renowned graffiti artist Banksy has launched his biggest-ever exhibition.
The anonymous artist, who made a name for himself with a series of "guerrilla" works, including placing an inflatable figure of a Guantanamo Bay prisoner at Disney World, has taken over Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery.
The exhibition, entitled Banksy Versus Bristol, which fills the entire council-owned building, remained a secret until its launch.
Portable toilets stacked like Stonehenge and a burned-out ice-cream van are among 100 works Banksy has installed at the museum, replacing many of the museum's regular artefacts.
The artist said in a statement: "This is the first show I've ever done where taxpayers' money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off.
"This show is my vision of the future, to which many people will say: 'You should have gone to Specsavers'."
