A pop group who are attempting to make a comeback had a stroke of luck when they met Prince Harry.

The group, Daniel Takes A Train, noticed the Prince after their performance at an arts venue in central London.

They seized on the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Prince and attempted to enlist the royal as a fan.

The group failed to sign a record deal before they split in 1988, four years after getting together.

Lead singer Paul Baker said: "We came off stage and were getting our stuff together and suddenly saw Prince Harry...It was the surprise of our lives."

He added: "We were tipped for the top 20 years ago. Hopefully this time around it will come."

The band are competing to play at a festival in Hyde Park later this month.
