Prince Harry has beaten his older brother to win the coveted title of Britain's coolest Royal.

The red-headed prince took 42 per cent of the votes in a MSN Entertainment poll, beating cousin Zara Philips who came second.

35 per cent of people also chose Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy as the most preferred royal couple to spend a night out with.

His brother, Prince William and Kate Middleton came third with 28 per cent.

Harry, who celebrates his 24th birthday on Monday, has famously served with the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals out in Afghanistan.

He spent time there as a tactical air controller but had to come home when news got out of his presence in the country.

Nearly half of all those asked said Harry's finest moment came in carrying on his mother's charity work, especially after launching African based charity Sentebale in her memory back in 2006.
