Base jump goes wrong
A base jumper escaped with just a broken leg after his parachute failed to open properly.
Hans Lange was attempting the most dramatic free-fall jump of his death-defying career in Romsdalen, Norway.
Lange flew down a mountainside in a specially designed winged suit, capturing the action on a camera.
His canopy failed to open fully but he cheated death when a tree broke his fall, and a Norwegian Air Ambulance team managed to lift him to safety.
Nursing a broken leg, Lange said: "I have never considered this as a last jump.
"Lying there, floating along the mountainside, feeling the hairs stand in your neck, and you are in complete control. It's a wonderful feeling, and a feeling I seek, and will always do."
