The much-talked-about nude scene in the US box office hit rom com The Proposal may not have been as awkward as all those newspaper reports suggested.

Despite acres of column inches about the painstakingly shot scene, which took three days to complete, actor Ryan Reynolds says it was a breeze.

Apparently, he and co-star Sandra Bullock are very close friends, and consequently very relaxed in each other's company.

He said: "We've been friends for years, we vacation together. I've seen her dirty-dance with George Michael."

In the movie, Reynolds plays Bullock's PA, whom she blackmails into marrying her when she is threatened with deportation back to Canada.

The nude scene takes place as Bullock emerges from the shower in a hotel room the pair are sharing to keep up the pretence of togetherness.
