David and Victoria Beckham receive nanny apology

The Beckhams have received a High Court apology from their former nanny after she sold a story about them to a newspaper.

The News of the World published an article which ran under the headline "Beckhams behind closed doors" in April 2005.

It appeared after Abbey Gibson had resigned in March after almost two years with the family.

A judge in London heard that Ms Gibson had now agreed to give "permanent undertakings of confidentiality" to the couple.

She has also agreed to drop her claim for constructive dismissal.

Gerrard Tyrrell, a solicitor for the Beckhams, told the court that Ms Gibson "has unconditionally apologised to David and Victoria Beckham and their family for breaching her duties of confidence".

Mr Tyrrel continued: "Ms Gibson has also agreed to the withdrawal of her claim for constructive dismissal that she made against the claimants which was issued in the Employment Tribunal in August 2005."
