Noel Gallagher laughs at X Factor gaffe

Oasis star Noel Gallagher has repeated his criticisms of X Factor saying: "It's not really about the music, is it?"

He said: "People from Bradford singing in American accents. It's sh***. It's really who's got the biggest sob story.

"This year it's all 'oh my cat died and its out stretched paw was pointing at a big X, so today Simon, I'm going to sing What's new Pussycat?'.

"Do us a favour get us a proper job.

"Simon Cowell says to the contestants that it's all about them. No, it's not, it's about you, Simon.

"One contestant said they were singing Wonderwall by Bryan Adams. It's a sign of the culture in which we live in."

Gallagher was referring to Bad Lashes who became the first act to be voted off the live show in The X Factor on Saturday night after singing Oasis's hit track Wonderwall.

Gallagher made the comments after announcing Oasis would be performing the biggest tour of open-air venues in the UK.

The group will perform at Manchester's Heaton Park, Sunderland's Stadium of Light, Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Slane Castle in Dublin and Wembley Stadium.
