Jol determined to ride out Spurs storm
Under-pressure Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol has insisted that it will be business as usual at White Hart Lane.
Spurs find themselves 17th in the Premier League table with just four points from their opening six matches after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to Arsenal in the 156th north London derby.
Reports claim that Jol, who spent £40 million in the summer in bolstering his squad in a bid to break into the top-four and the Champions League, could have a month in which to save his job.
Tottenham have only won one match this season, against the Premier League's basement club Derby County, and will be looking to get the better of Anorthosis Famagusta in the first round of the Uefa Cup at White Hart lane on Thursday night.
Jol said: "I can only listen to what (chairman) Daniel Levy is telling me. Provided we play good football and get the results, there is no problem. If you don't get the results, you have to analyse what is going wrong."
Despite Tottenham's disappointing start to the campaign, Jol is adamant that he is the man to take the north Londoners into the Champions League after back-to-back fifth-place finishes in his first two seasons.
And the Dutchman is determined to move on from the defeat at Arsenal: "I will try to get the results and as long as the players show me the commitment they showed me again, there is no problem.
"People said in 2005 I was going to be out of a job but I am still here. So I think I will be here in six weeks. I feel there are two worlds here in London.
"There are you guys (journalists) and then there are the supporters who read your papers. It's amazing, no?
"Although they read your papers, they're still backing me. That's a great feeling.
"I don't think the board is a problem. I tell them all the time what's wrong. We speak about players and talk about the team."
