Jack Black's Year One panned by critics
There is something primitive about Jack Black's latest big-screen outing.
The School of Rock star teams up with Michael Cera, of Superbad fame, for Harold Ramis' prehistoric road trip adventure Year One.
The film has been panned by many critics, who variously describe it as a "disaster of epic proportions" and a movie which "sets prehistoric comedy back at least 20 years".
Hunter Zed (Black) and gatherer Oh (Cera) begin the movie as the bumbling losers of their tribe, mocked for their consistent inability to either hunt or gather.
Soon finding themselves banished from their village, they embark on an adventure to find the edge of the world, encountering various Biblical characters en route.
Despite the reviews, Year One has notched up more than $30 million (£18m) globally in the week since it was released. UK audiences got their first look on Friday.
