A teenager has died after being shot in an incident in south London.

The 19-year-old, who is black, was rushed to a south London hospital after being discovered with gunshot wounds in the Stockwell area but died in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Metropolitan Police officers are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident.

They said they are keeping an open mind about the circumstances of the murder and any motive.

An investigation is under way by Trident detectives, and an incident room has been set up.
