Skill Methodz win B-Boy World Championships

US B-Boy crew the Skill Methodz are the new B-Boy World Champions.

The breakdancing team from Tampa, Florida beat off competition from Russia, Korea, Finland, Japan, Belgium, Ukraine and the UK during the finals at London's Brixton Academy last Sunday.

Host of the event was B-Boy veteran Crazy Legs who entertained the audience on an eventful evening.

UK contestants Soul Mavericks went out earlier in the competition, but insisted they were proud of their performance. "We finished the battle similing", said crew member Roxy.

For the first time organisers introduced a female category. UK contestants B-Bitches finished in second place, AT, Candy and Taya, also known as 3 ON 3, won.

The B-Boy finals will form part of a Channel 4 six-part series, which is due to be broadcast on Sunday November 22.
