Sophia Brown is the first official housemate to be booted out of the Big Brother house.

The 26-year-old from Herne Hill, London, went head-to-head with Freddie Fisher, aka Halfwit, to face the public vote and lost. She had been nominated by six of the housemates.

The banking assistant, who rowed with walk-out Saffia Corden, said: "That's all right, that's all right" when host Davina McCall delivered the news.

Housemate Noirin Kelly, 25, said she voted for Sophie because "sometimes she can be very stubborn... and she can kind of be really aggressive as well".

When asked what it would mean to him to stay in the house, Fisher, who earned his place as a housemate by agreeing to change his name to Halfwit by deed poll, told Big Brother: "It would mean more of an opportunity for the other housemates to get to know me, and more importantly for the people of Britain to get to know me."
