English teacher has last laugh

A 54-year-old Thai English teacher from Bangkok has won the World's Loudest, Longest, Funniest Laugh Contest.

Jitrat Wongsomboon was able to outclass her rivals with a cackle of 12 minutes and 26 seconds and is now laughing all the way to the bank with £1,500 in prize winnings.

A total of 136 applicants signed up to compete but only 26 qualified to go through the preliminary auditions

Tweleve different nations including Liberia, England, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Holland, France, were represented in the final along with host nation,Thailand.

Jitrat was not only able to laugh for more than 12 minutes, but also reach an ear-shattering 110 decibels.

She is now set to go on a world tour.
