Easy Virtue Hitchcock remake

The red carpet has been rolled out for the premiere of an Alfred Hitchcock classic remake, Easy Virtue.

Eighty years on from Hitchcock's 1928 silent-movie version, the film is based on Noel Coward's play of the same name.

It is written and directed by Stephan Elliott, and stars Jessica Biel, Ben Barnes, Colin Firth, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

It is a comedy about a glamorous American widow who marries a young Englishman in the south of France on the spur of the moment.

The pair head to England to meet his parents who take a strong dislike to their new daughter-in-law, and a battle of wits ensues.

She arrives like a blast from the future - blowing their entrenched British stuffiness out the window.

The film opens on November 7.
