Extreme sport hits the ground running

The first ever Open Base Jumping Championship has taken place in Britain with an unusual twist.

To win the competition, contestants were asked to throw themselves off a wind turbine with little more than a parachute strapped to their back.

They then gained points by landing on a giant target below.

Australian Christopher McDougall, known as Duggs, has won round one of the inaugural championships that were held in Swaffam.

The sport is banned in many countries because of the risks it poses.
