Blur drummer to run for Labour
Blur drummer Dave Rowntree is reportedly set to run for Labour in the next General Election.
The star will contest the seat of Cities of London and Westminster alongside sitting MP and former Tory frontbrencher Mark Field.
Rowntree, who failed in a bid to become a London councillor last year, says he hopes he can prevent "a whole generation of non-voters" by inspiring young people.
He has accused Mr Field of failing to speak up for the poor in the constituency.
The star also said that there were too many MPs and suggested that they should be cut by a third.
He is currently chair of Labour's London West End branch.
