Grandfather keen to take Hatton on
A former world champion is keen to meet Ricky Hatton in the ring - despite being aged almost 61.
American Saoul Mamby, who trains himself at John's Gym in the South Bronx in New York, was first crowned World Boxing Council light welterweight champion 28 years ago.
Mamby, a grandfather of 11 said he was not worried about getting hurt.
"I fought the best in the world. At one time I was the best in the world," he said.
"If I can reach that level again, there's no harm in trying.
"I don't want to sit back and be one of those shoulda, coulda, woulda people. I want to give it a shot."
Just a few weeks ago it's believed he became the oldest boxer ever in a sanctioned bout when he lost a ten-round draw in the Cayman Islands.
Despite the result, Sean Sullivan, Editor In Chief of Boxing Digest Magazine says even at the age of 60, Mamby can win again.
"He can win fights the way he is now. It's just a matter of finding the right opposition. That's not up to him. That's up to his team and his management, promoters and matchmakers," he said.
Mamby thinks that after two or three warm-up fights he would match up well against British fighter Hatton, recognised by Ring Magazine as the world's best super lightweight.
