Nobody nose baby anteater's name

A Tokyo Zoo has unveiled its latest arrival - a baby anteater who is a little bit wobbly on its feet.

The tot is still waiting for a name because zoo keepers can't make out what sex it is.

And while it still has another month to go before it is unveiled to zoo visitors, it managed to stumble its way through a photocall for the press with charm.

Perhaps it is taking after its mum Tae who is all too familiar with the limelight.

She hit the headlines twice over the past five years when she clawed open the door to her cage and escaped.

Zoo worker Masahiro Tomiyama said: "It's still early, so until it gets a bit bigger we won't know what sex it is. At the moment though, I've got a feeling that it's a boy."

It takes one year for the anteater to reach maturity, and they can grow up to 35 inches (88.9 cms) in length with tails up to 16 inches (40 cms).

Having no teeth, using instead long sticky tongues to lick up ants from anthills and juices out of fruits, some species are known to eat up to 35,000 ants and insects each day.
