Seven arrested after triple death crash
Seven people were arrested by police investigating a road accident in which three people died.
Derbyshire Police said four men, all aged in their late teens and from the Ashbourne area, had been detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on the A52 at Kirk Langley, near Derby, last month.
An 18-year-old man and two young women, aged 20 and 16, had also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, a police spokesman said.
The crash on October 20 involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Vauxhall Corsa.
Alice Greenwood, 12, of Ackworth, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, died in the accident.
She was travelling in the Passat, which was being driven by her mother, who also suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the Corsa, 18-year-old Andrew Sellers, and his 16-year-old passenger, Liam Connell, both from Ashbourne, were also killed.
Inspector Jim Allen, of the Derbyshire Road Policing Unit, said: "As can be seen from these arrests, this investigation has taken significant steps forward."
