Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson rocked the red carpet for the release of his new movie The Game Plan.

Johnson, who made his name as WWE star The Rock, has turned his hand to comedy to feature in the Disney movie.

The 35-year-old plays a famous American footballer who suddenly finds out he has a young daughter.

The star revealed what made him want to throw his weight behind the role in the family film.

He said: "I've always been drawn to comedy. It's always very unique and special when you can make people laugh and feel good especially in movies. I'm not drawn to really dark material."

He was joined at the premiere by his onscreen daughter played by the mega cute Maddison Pettis.

And for Johnson's next big project he'll be moving even further away from his tough man image - playing the title role in The Tooth Fairy.
