Donatella Versace has been joined by Greys Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey at her Autumn-Winter fashion show in Milan.

The Italian designer, who recently returned from Berlin, said the city inspired her latest collection.

She said: "It's more graphic, it's all based on volume, different volumes, volume that stays away from the body, not too constricting, not too revealing - a new sophistication."

The German influence shined through the structured shapes and blocks of colour she used to reflect an architectural theme for tailored dresses with asymmetric straps and pleats for her winter collection.

Other outfits featured striking single colours, such as black, fuschia and bright yellow.

More urban inspiration came from the cityscape prints on a series of short dresses in yellow, hot pink and purple.
