Former Wimbledon champion Roger Federer has admitted Andy Murray has the ability to win the tournament this year.

Following the withdrawal of defending champion Rafael Nadal, Murray is second-highest ranked player left in the men's championship and Federer believes his style of play suits the grass courts.

Federer said: "He has the double-handed back-hand, very unusual, he's a great double-hander, he moves very well for how tall he is.

"He'll be a great grass champion for the future. He's definitely got a good chance."

Murray has already reached the final of the US Open, where he lost to Federer last year.

But he has never progressed beyond the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

However, he proved he is in good form by winning the Queen's Club championship last week and he will face his first test at Wimbledon when he plays the American Robert Kendrick in the first round.
