Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles channelled her frustration with her record company into a hit song.

The 28-year-old admitted she was annoyed when bosses told her she had failed to come up with a killer single.

Ironically, she wrote Love Song about the experience and it went on to top the charts.

The song has helped her second album Little Voice sell half a million copies in the US.
