Pupils flee school after guns found

Pupils were forced to flee their Scottish primary school after replica guns and masks were found stashed in a cupboard.

Police were called when two bags containing around ten replica pistols and rifles, as well as balaclavas and ski masks, were discovered among gym equipment at Blairtummock Primary in Easterhouse, Glasgow.

The school was searched over fears there could be a gunman on the loose as staff sent pupils home.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "A number of weapons were discovered in a cupboard in the school by a member of staff.

"They were examined and have been found to be replicas."
