Clinton 'accepts Obama post'

Hillary Clinton has reportedly accepted the post of Secretary of State in the Obama administration.

The New York Times quoted two associates of Mrs Clinton, who said she had agreed to take on the top diplomatic role after discussions with Barack Obama.

The president-elect is expected to make an official announcement after the November 27 Thanksgiving holiday.

Mrs Clinton's husband, former president Bill Clinton, has offered to allow increased scrutiny of the overseas business and charity venture he launched after leaving the White House.

It had been feared his international activities could create conflicts of interest if his wife got the job as Secretary of State.
