Gossip Girl heart throb Ed Westwick can't wait to start work on his new film.

He'll be working on the adaptation of Emily Bronte's novel, Wuthering Heights, alongside Gemma Arterton.

On his role as Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, Westwick says he has not lost touch with his roots.

The English actor puts on an American accent to play the bad boy in the cult US series.

Despite embracing the New York lifestyle, he says he still prefers football to basketball and would pick home-grown beauty like Cheryl Cole over all-American Megan Fox.

Asked to choose between Gossip Girl characters Blair and Serena, he said: "There's something about the character of Blair.

"They're both a little bit annoying. If I had to pick between Blair and Serena I would go with Blair - I'm partial to a brunette.

"But they're both great girls in real life."
