Family's heartbreak over Amar murder
The family of Amar Aslam has spoken of their heartbreak at the murder of the teenager who "lit up their whole family".
Amin Hussain Ali, 20, and three boys aged 15 earlier appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court accused of murdering the 17-year-old in a park on Sunday.
The four, who have also been charged with robbery, will appear before Leeds Crown Court on June 5.
Amar's sister, Samreen Aslam, wept as she told reporters how her "loving and special" brother had just got his driving licence two days before he was found dead in Crow Nest Park after suffering head injuries in the attack.
The family also said Amar's mother, Reanna Aslam, is "heartbroken" by his death and is considering leaving the country.
Ms Aslam said her brother was "excited and so happy" about getting his licence, adding: "Amar was a loving and special brother. He was the baby of the family, he was very close to his sisters and his mother. He was so caring and sensitive, he would always look after us like a mature older brother."
She continued: "Our loving baby brother has gone forever and our lives are painful and meaningless. Nothing can replace our brother and we still believe he will walk through the door smiling like he always used to do. It will never be the same without him."
Ms Aslam was unable to hold back her tears as she described how Amar's nickname was Moon because "he lit up the whole family".
She said: "Our Moon may have gone and without any doubt he will be missed but will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace in heaven."
Mr Majid read out a statement on behalf of Amar's mother which said: "My Moon has gone, he has made my life darker forever, he has left me heartbroken."
Three other juveniles have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
