Naomi Campbell has met Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez while on a charity trip to the country.

She the latest of a number of celebs to meet the Among the controversial figure, including Kevin Spacey, Sean Penn and Danny Glover.

The supermodel met the head of state as she travelled to Caracas for the Nelson Mandela Foundation to see a new housing project.

The president took her to one of his new residential community projects which provides housing for 120 families.

They were swarmed by local residents when they arrived at the Comna Villa del Sol housing project.

Earlier in the day, Campbell attended a rally in which Chavez criticised the Catholic Church.
