Hollywood star Renee Zellweger and comedian Jerry Seinfeld have hit the red carpet for their new animated feature Bee Movie.

The film is about the life of a honeybee and is the latest flick to hit the big screen from Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks studio.

TV star Seinfeld gives life to the movie's main character, Barry B Benson, and Zellweger provides the voice for Manhattan florist Vanessa.

Barry sets out to break the mould in pursuit of something more exciting than his life as a worker bee and soon encounters a world beyond his wildest dreams.

Stand-up comedian Seinfeld, who co-wrote and co-produced the film, also cast the voices of Matthew Broderick, Chris Rock and Kathy Bates in starring roles.

The film goes on general release on December 14.
