Sax appeal could upstage Susan
Britain's Got Talent favourite Susan Boyle will face saxophonist Julian Smith in the final.
Smith, 39, made it through after winning the public vote, while grandfather and granddaughter singing duo Two Grand were saved by the judges vote.
Boyle has already made it into the grand final of the ITV1 show on Saturday night, along with Welsh schoolboy singer Shaheen Jafargholi and father-and-son dance act Stavros Flatley.
Show judge Piers Morgan jumped to her defence after reports that the pressure of fame may be starting to take their toll.
Boyle, 48, dubbed the Hairy Angel, lost her temper in the lobby of the Wembley Plaza Hotel in north London after being "wound up" by two strangers.
Morgan revealed she has been in "floods of tears" and has considered quitting the show to escape the attention.
Writing on his internet blog, he said that "frightened rabbit" Boyle had fleetingly felt like throwing in the towel to escape all the attention.
He said reading bitchy comments about her had made him feel "very, very angry", adding: "Susan is finding it very, very difficult to cope, and to stay calm. She has been in tears many times during the last few days, and even, fleetingly, felt like quitting the show altogether at one point and fleeing all the attention."
Boyle, from Blackburn, West Lothian, was propelled into the spotlight following her audition for the show, singing I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables.
She went on to become a global internet sensation, scoring millions of hits on video site YouTube and gaining celebrity support including that of Hollywood star Demi Moore.
On Wednesday, it emerged that 46-year-old Ghost star Moore was planning to fly in from the United States to cheer on Boyle after judge Simon Cowell offered her two first class plane tickets.
A total of ten acts will compete in the final and dance groups Flawless and Diversity and singer Shaun Smith are the other finalists so far.
The hopefuls will compete for a prize of £100,000 and a chance to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
