Stamp honour for first class sniffer dog

An airport sniffer dog has been given the stamp of approval by the Royal Mail.

Max the springer spaniel's contribution to crime fighting is certainly not to be sniffed at.

And now a postage stamp bearing his own image is recognising his first class work.

The customs dog has relieved smugglers of a staggering £4 million of dodgy money at Heathrow Airport.

In fact, he has bagged so much loot from criminals that his handlers have nicknamed him Cashpoint.

Sadly Max has a medical condition that has taken the spring out of his step and has been found a loving new home where he will spend his retirement.

Max is one of a number of working dogs featured on the new series of Royal Mail stamps.
