Lumberjacks and lumberjills have put their skills to the test at the European Timbersports championships in Tyrol, Austria.

Dirk Braun, the German with tree trunks for arms, was once again crowned European champion.

Among the events were the springboard competition, stock saw, standing block chop, underhand chop and hot saw.

The British team, captained by Spike Milton walked away with a bronze medal.

"We're over the moon, without a doubt. The Olympics were fantastic, what Britain did there but lets have some recognition for our lumberjacks," he said.

The world championships are to be held in Ireland on September 24.
